There are only a handful who are active. EB3's are screwed so bad that they have resigned to fate or comtemplating using AC 21 and reapplying in EB 2. i have tired pointing it out to many that EB 3 as a whole is in the same boat, few care and the July filers are happy in the land of EAD/AP.
Some people like me who really love what they do and dont prefer changing jobs have reached a point where they are begining to think if it is all even worth the wait. You will not find a sleeping giant, rather a depressed giant overrun by a bunch of koolaid drinkers.

You are right, he kept on bluffing saying that he will apply EB2, blah blah.....it was my stupidity that I believed him and did not accept the reality. I am at the receiving end, what ever I try some where else I am hitting a brick wall. The only option for me is to get a pre approved labor and follow the whole 9 yards again. A very good analogy for some of these desi companies is they are like pimps. They market you or you market yourself and they will keep ripping you........man very frustrating......any body has similar experience. I can be contacted to share about my H1 slavery experience.

Just goes to show how screwed up USCIS is......I have Zero expectations from them and should be able to control my emotions and balance of mind on anything relating to them.

I'm not sure if I'm eligible to apply for Master's quota. I'm done with all my degree requirements and I've scheduled my thesis defence on MAy 20th. Is it still possible that I can apply in Master's quota. I've a letter from my schools which states that I'm done with all my degree requirements and I'll be finishing thesis on May 20th. Is this letter enough to apply for MAsters??
since master's quota is still available, you can apply now. some lawyers say you can apply with that letter from school.Later if you get RFE you can submit your masters degree at that time. Anyways talk to your lawyer

I like your idea. And I do support it in spite I not being in similar situation.. However with a little bit experienece I have with similar work flow improvement projects I would like to point out that the impact on labour/cost has to be thought through. My understanding is the agency has not been using Visa numbers because they are heavily loaded. Now if you ask them to do this pre-adjudicataion for all cases that will impose a sever load on them. I may be completely wrong here - it could be another department, another agency so this may not be an issue at all.. but if possible think through this as we submit a proposal.. If needed (now gals and guys don't beat me up!) we could even pay them (So they could hire people) to get this pre-adjudication done?

My passport was renewed by Consulate of Chicago and the fields last name and first name were interchanged.
I used the miscellaneous service form. The reason i gave was other and also did not fill my name on the form. I took it to the consulate along with my old passport and showed them the error. They agreed to make a correction and then I filled in the name on the miscellaneous service form the the way i wanted it to look like.
They provided an endorsement on the second page of the passport and this should be good for travel and all other purposes. I did not need an affidavit as the old passport was used as the proof.
I believe you should be able to use the same.

There are few reasons for that. 1) This is just a workflow change and an internal procedural change for the USCIS. 2) There is no need for any additional incentive for the government as this is in effect not taking anything extra from the US soil in terms of opportunity etc. 3) Any addition of fee requires administration to get it approved through the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and it will make this a legislative affair. That means the whole assumption of getting it through admin fix becomes invalid. 4) In any case, if administration wants to make some extra money from us, they will come up with that proposal.

I had the first-hand opportunity to meet and see IV core members working for our cause. Really, it gives you the chill that thinking its the same GC everyone on this forum wants but the dedication with which they are approaching is amazing. There is no point talking about what we "could have done" after the congress session is over and god forbid, our bill doesn't pass through. 2008 is all about elections and the citizens, not too much of immigration will come to forefront, so please think.....

Another member from CA has joined this challange. The member has contacted me and I have just now spoken to the member. The member wants to stay as an annonymous donor. So far he has contributed $1500 over the past few months. This member has pledged to pitch in with some more money when the total contributions from other members reach the 30,000 & 60,000 dollar mark. Specifically, he will contribute $250 more when we get close to $30,000, and another $250 for the $60,000.
Apart from my earlier contribution, I would like to pledge another $20 if we reach $30,000 and $20 if we reach $60,000. I am sorry guys i am on a tight budget but still want to do the best I can. And I hope you guys will agree every penny counts for the tough journey we have in front of us next year.

The letter actually does not mention all degree requirements have been fulfilled. This left me really upset (I asked the dept to fax it directly to company, so I had not seen it).
It says "XYZ completed all coursework requirements for his PhD in EE at the University ABC, and deposited his thesis on April 11 2007. His degree should then be officially conferred in May 13 2007"
Obviously course + thesis = all degree requirements for PhD, but I wonder if USCIS might question it. The company's attorney (a highly reputable company) okayed the letter and he said denial is unlikely and that they will either approve it or issue an RFE; but based on my readings of other posts I think there is a fair chance that it might be denied.
The irony is that I got a letter from the registrar on April 16, but by that time the attorney had already filed with the weaker letter. I asked him to send the other one when quota was still available but he said it was unnecessary.
Please anyone with similar experience comment.

The letter voicing our sense of injustice and urgency is being treated as "comments" .. Only a lawsuit will get these people to treat us seriously!

Its like your boss asking you to tell him how many hrs you do actual work v/s how many hrs do you do non work related things. Would you volunterily disclose your wasted time at work every day ?
You will disclose total hrs you worked but not time you didnt work :)
USCIS does not give how many Visas they have used and how many are left
like how many unused have gone to EB3 or Eb2 etc
if its Vertical or horizontal visa distribution
they have been some Law Suits on them to give the data

ALLOW EVERYONE TO FILE I485 SHOULD BE OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
You people already have filed 485 and have EAD. EAD gives you so much freedom . It is as good as a green card.
What about people who are less fortunate and cannot file II485. We need to allow everyone to be on the same page first and enjoy EAD freedom.
That should be our priority before any country limits or this thread action item
Please don't muck up this thread. Kate123/Jchan I think lead the effort of "Allowing everyone to file I485" but it ran into issues as it requires a change in law than an admin fix. No one is stopping you to pursue that option further.
